Donald Trump. While despicable, they believed there were other processes to hold Donald Trump accountable for 1/6 since he was already voted out of office. One way was through the criminal courts if deemed necessary through due process.

Well, here we are. We're doing exactly what the GOP leaders wanted us to do.
