I still remember coming home from a practice we had in a rough field behind

a school. It was actually an organized neighborhood league. I was playing second base when a grounder came my way. I got my glove down on it but it hit something and popped straight up into my mouth. It bled pretty bad but I walked up to a water fountain behind the school, rinsed it off and went back to playing. By the time I got home I must have been a swollen, blood crusted mess. My mom about had a heart attack. One or both of my front teeth were loosened up by that and I wasn't supposed to play for the rest of the summer but you know how that goes.
