Even most Republicans thought his candidacy was a joke when he first ran -


They were right the first time. It was truly amazing to watch so many people give up their intelligence, their dignity, their ethics, and for the evangelical types, their own souls and lay these things at the feet of a con man who doesn’t even try to hide the fact that he’s a con man. I still have no idea what it was all for and have no problem admitting I never will. On some level, however, I do feel sadness for the people who will have to live with that stain of dishonor on themselves for the rest of their lives.
