I understand that point, but I also think it’s helpful for Russia to be
revealed as a paper tiger.
The death of the perceived might of the Russian military is helpful for the sort of realpolitik considerations people like Kissinger and Brzezinski used to espouse, as long as we remember they’re still the number 2 ( possibly number 1, if all you count is warhead volume and not capacity for delivery) nuclear power on the planet.
The reduction in their energy power over Western Europe is also a benefit.
Finally, the emergence of Ukraine as a proven strong buffer between Putin and our Eastern European allies is also a benefit to world peace IMO.
