GOP only gained 22 legislative seats this midterm when over 6000 ...


were on the ballot. Massive underperformance compared to the midterms in 2010, 2014, and 2018 ... especially considering the economy. The biggest takeaway: the GOP strengthened their legislative majority in the states where they already had the majority (deep red states) ... however, lost significant ground in the purple states. That's a huge shift in state politics.

Caution: Boltsmag is a left magazine that that takes a big picture view of local politics in America. That said, this article appears well researched and vetted with numbers that are indisputable. The midterm voters definitely sent a message to the GOP: nominate sane / moderate candidates. Let's see if the GOP got the message.
