I agree and that is what we should hope for.

I have never cared much for "crossing party lines" in hopes of influencing any kind of outcome. I don't think it hardly ever works and to me, it is not quite kosher anyway. I am NOT suggesting that is Shenhoo's motivation at all though. I think the impulse for rewarding integrity where there is very little, is well meaning, but I expressed the reasons why it would not be something that I could do.

Yes, in a broader sense, I think that most of us, whether we are GOPers or not, would prefer to see a much more moderated GOP. THAT has to come from within that group though, not through the good wishes of others.
