media like Fox News screaming TECHNICAL RECESSION! TECHNICAL RECESSION!, like Gomer Pyle chasing Barney down yelling CITIZEN ARREST! CITIZEN ARREST!

Just communicate clearly. Say that as a general rule two consecutive quarters of declining GDP has indicated a recession but this one’s different. It’s different because we’re adding jobs not losing jobs. Remind people of what 2008 and 2009 was like and the difference. Explain clearly what’s driving the decline in GDP.

Otherwise they’re just playing the Republicans game. And no one is the wiser.
