I hate to say it, but TK’s making the surest prediction in this thread.

I wouldn’t want to bet on where oil prices will go from here, and while a lot can still happen between now and Nov, it is still a pretty safe bet that the dems will get punished. That’s normally true in mid terms where one party has control, and this year is accompanied by a high stress economy and president who does not project strength and confidence (putting it diplomatically).

If Trump weren’t so involved, I don’t think the dems would have much chance in either chamber. Trump has elevated some buffoons to lead the repub senate tickets, though. If he really does announce his candidacy in ‘24 before Nov - I think that could actually be the one thing that might make TK wrong, ironically.
