...to the same degree as the Dems. The OP referred to "socialist Reps", though, as if this were a Rep-only or Rep-driven boondoggle. It wasn't.

The CAUSE of the PPP and other COVID relief, however, was the state and local Dem effort around the nation to sabotage the economy heading into the 2020 election. Had things like PPP not passed, we'd have been looking at 25% unemployment rates and 100x the bankruptcies that we actually saw, so of course Trump was in favor of it. Instead, we just got $5 trillion+ of new debt with virtually all of that money literally pissed away paying people not to work. But at least they got Trump.
