Peter Lacy... We hardly knew ye

The rescinded employment offer followed an IndyStar investigation into the circumstances of Lacy's abrupt resignation last month from the Indiana BMV.

IndyStar found the resignation came one day after Lacy appeared intoxicated during an executive meeting with about 30 top BMV officials. Participants in the meeting said Lacy slurred his words, seemed confused and made an off-color remark about Viagra to a female staffer.

Half a dozen people who worked under Lacy at the BMV's central office said it was part of a pattern of inappropriate behavior that included crude sexual remarks to women and angry outbursts in which he would berate employees and throw things.

Maybe we'll get a budget NEXT month.
