I think his problem and I'd question it too, is her defending the Gitmo detainees. I'd have to have full context because maybe she couldn't get out of it. But I'd be inclined to think, if I were in that position, to say I won't defend those animals and you'd better call Saul. My guess is that while they may have right of council, you don't have to accept the assignment.

I find opting to defend them to be a character flaw, for certain, regardless of the color of her skin or her genitalia. But who knows, maybe this is how you get promoted to the bench in liberal world, by making the "tough decisions" like defending subhuman shitbags - note: I didn't use adjectives like brown or Middle Eastern. Good talking points on the race and gender here, I guess? We should always bring that up on both sides instead of why we think someone may have judgment issues.
