1) It was obvious from early on that the COVID fanatics were going to make life miserable for anyone who didn't comply with their demands. Given that I live in left-wing fanatic central, I was particularly at risk from these tyrants. Obivously, I was right -- as there are still a multitude of COVID theater restrictions on the "unvaccinated" both here and elsewhere -- so my initial fear remains a reasonable justification for getting the shots.

2) At the time I got the shots (April/May 2021), there was still some evidence that they might prevent transmission and, if not, at least mitigate symptoms. I knew even back then (from Israeli data, for example, coupled with the obivous problems inherent in variants) that the first claim was likely false despite Biden, the CDC, the media and the drug companies lying their asses off about it, but the chance that it might reduce symptoms was still a positive in my mind.

So, the decision for me was like my decision to get the flu shot: I'm not worried about the flu killing me, but if there's a way to reduce flu (or COVID) symptoms, then you have my attention. There is no way to prove or disprove this aspect of the decision as being wise. I still got COVID despite being vaccinated, and the shots may or may not have mitigated symptoms -- there's no way to know.

3) The vaccine is made from Trump's own dragon blood, so how bad could it be?

To your last point, such as it is, I'm not a hypocrite at all on the COVID shot because my position has always been get it if you want it and don't get it if you don't want it. I'm pro-choice, and it's none of my business whether other people -- including Navy SEALs -- choose to get this treatment.

The hypocrites are the ones who claim to be pro-choice -- i.e., the left -- and yet mandate that everyone else make the same choices with their bodies and healthcare that they did.
