You say the school is 25% Latino and then leap to blaming overcrowdedness on illegal immigrants.

What percentage of that 25% has parents who are here illegally? It could be none for all you know. And even if we’re talking about some, I’d be willing to bet you’re mostly talking about teenagers who were born here in the early 00’s (and are every bit as much US citizens as you or me)….so even if some of them had parents who crossed the border illegally 20 years ago, what on earth does that have to do with Kamala Harris or securing the border (and who the fucks wants an unsecure border?)

Not to mention that’s a really weak and presumptive case to make blaming immigration for schools being overcrowded. Did your district recently just explode with Latino kids, all else constant, or are you just assuming a very modest diversity number (25%, really?) somehow means droves of illegals are popping out babies left and right and flooding the schools? Honestly.

We are in a school district where schools are a generally lot more diverse than what you describe and and are getting overcrowded …. But it’s because young, mostly white, families with kids keep moving here. The district’s diversity is not what is driving school overflow at all.

I hear this shit a lot from my parents and their friends. It’s almost like there is a narrative that schools getting more diverse is bad and means there is some kind of takeover happening rather than just the fact that the country is growing more and more diverse and that is a good thing….folks just notice more when the immigrants are coming from east Asia or Latin America and not Ireland, Poland, or Italy.
