It's an optics problem... But we tax income in this country, not wealth.

The wealthy are not paying a small percentage of their income in taxes, they're paying a small percentage of their wealth in taxes. I don't know that I consider that to be a huge actual problem.

All I ask is that if people want to solve the problem of the wealthy not paying their "fair share", please don't raise tax rates on income. That just hurts high earners and doesn't do anything to increase taxes on the wealthy.
