an attack on territorial integrity of a country by an outsider, a veiled reference to US support of Taiwan. Keeping Taiwan as part of China and not an independent country is very important to the Chinese.

As one analyst of China told me a while ago, "The governments in Beijing and Taipei both agree that Taiwan is an integral part of China. They just disagree over who should be in charge of everything."
