…destroyed all the time, and there’s nothing wrong with it. If they are official records of national importance, then it would be a problem. If they are personal records, drafts of speeches, etc., then they can be destroyed. The president is not obligated to retain every scrap of paper while in office.

Let me know if you know what was allegedly “destroyed”, and, more interestingly, if any of it was subject to a valid subpoena. If something like classified and illegal communications were willfully destroyed to evade a valid subpoena — as was the case with the Clinton records — then I’d be concerned.
