Higher viral load with respiratory droplets.

Several studies have shown that masks reduce the severity of covid infections.

I think the experience in NYC and Lombardy almost certainly confirms this. The fatality rate with those initial outbreaks was staggering. Part of it was due to us not knowing how to even treat infections, but part of it was people were getting exposed to a massive viral load by not taking any precautions like social distancing and masking. And it’s not just the nursing home issue in NYC. Deaths rates were crazy against all age groups during April and may of 2020 in NYC.

And I don’t mind being the source of a drinking game. I’m happy to be a broken record when people ignore facts and common sense.
