I've tried to read this article 3 times.
I see the headline claiming that 9,000 Americans were left behind in Afghanistan. The 9,000 is mentioned again in the lead.
But then...crickets.
I mean the reporter drops some hypothetical guess numbers and baits the reader to do the math for them. But the article ends with this uncontested statement from the President, “The bottom line: 90% of Americans in Afghanistan who wanted to leave were able to leave."
So this reader has a few of questions. First, how many Americans were airlifted out? How many were actually left behind? How many utilized alternative means to leave Afghanistan? How many simply refused to leave?
My guess is that whoever wrote this article has no fricking idea what they are talking about.
