I agree...

Her negative test was with a home test, and I'm not sure how accurate those are, although the same test showed both my other kid and me as negative, and the other sick one as positive. So, three out of four tests seemed to work? We all got the professional on-site tests today, and the sick/recovered kid was still positive and the not-sick kid is negative, so that makes sense. Haven't gotten my or the wife's results back yet.

That said, literally every family we know (at least a half-dozen) who've had it over the past couple of weeks are testing positive, but showing literally no symptoms or very mild symptoms (like a headache for a day or mildly sore throat), and vax status hasn't seemed to matter. The parents are all vaxxed, but a lot of the kids aren't (although COVID typically hits adults a lot worse than kids, so maybe the adult vaxxes are helping, and the kids are okay either way?)

The mild symptoms are great news, but the problem is the fucking quarantining. Any kid who tests positive has to miss a full week of school regardless of symptoms, and then can only go back with a negative test after five days. My kid, who already missed three days of school last week, is now asymptomatic, but has to stay home this week because she got a positive test today. Crazy.
