1) whether a citizen can view the election as invalid due to illegality — i.e., public opinion

2) whether the illegality could affect certification, etc.

The first is not a Constitutional matter. Many people presume the election is bogus and invalid because election laws were violated, and the ways in which they were violated undercut the integrity of the elections in multiple states. No one needs to be a Constitutional scholar to note the fact that the election is presumed by millions of people to be invalid.

The second is at least partially a Constitutional matter, I suppose, in terms of how the Constitution lays out guidelines for elections. Here, the certification of the election could have been stopped at numerous points in the process due to concerns over illegality, but it was not, which is fine. The process worked in that a winner was installed in office after the election ran its full Constitutional course.
