You were looking so good up until that last paragraph, and then the same

Old Trumpie bullshit showed up. I do agree that this was a solid bipartisan effort and plan designed to scale up or down as the crisis moves, and should be rejected out of hand by nobody.

Still, that pension point is utter political bullshit. Plummeting state and local revenues have nothing at all to do with cost structures - pensions or anything. The proposals for state assistance are in a sense a conservative “states’ rights” view towards pandemic relief. States and localities are huge employers and are primary service providers, and aid to them is one of the fastest ways to alleviate the misery of this pandemic. The lost revenues have nothing to do with any spending policies whatsoever.

Remember all that aid to companies? What, you think some audit was done to make sure they all have optimal spending structures? This is about a collapse in revenue, not about the expense side at all.

So while I think we should resist these bullshit partisan talking points, I still think it is long past time to accept what we can agree on, and continue negotiating for what we can’t. 10s of millions of people need help.
