“Diversity” as an ideal is great..
Right up there with warm puppies, apple pie, and world peace. The problem is that “Diversity” as policy, implemented through hiring quotas, race/gender based promotions, and other forms of special treatment, is pretty much unfair to everyone. Companies should focus on ensuring that diverse employees aren’t discriminated against, and try to address any workplace issues that are discouraging recruiting/ retaining diverse employees, but then let the chips fall where they may.
