My mom lives on Sanford Lake, just downstream from the dam failures...

Thankfully, she & her house are just fine. She was stranded and couldn't evacuate due to the nearby roads/bridges being underwater or washed out. Her house is on pretty high ground though, so she didn't have any damage inside. When it was all said and done, she only managed to lose her dock & boat hoist, despite how high the water got. The level of debris deposited on the property was pretty staggering though! And somehow, she managed to keep pulling her boat up as the floodwaters rose & never lost it. That said, now that the water has receded, it's about 50yds up from the shoreline, dry-docked in the middle of her yard. It could have been much worse & it was for many people that I still know in the area. It's going to take a while for the area to recover from this.

I linked to the Facebook video she posted from last night, just past the crest. It's a bit grainy since it was taken at dusk, but also pretty shocking.

Seriously though, can we just skip the rest of 2020?!?
