before there can be peace. They need to recognize Israel, stop attacks, etc... However, increasing settlements just makes a long term peace agreement that much harder. If Mexico were to start building settlements in Texas, I doubt the Texans would just sit peacefully by watching it happen, but for some reason we look the other way when Israel does it in the only remaining land left for Palestinians.
