Community sets is where the funding comes from. Lefties think govt has to fill the gaps where altruism falls short, and righties believe altruism should do the trick. But not many people openly favor letting them all rot. People contributing to charities to set up homeless shelters rarely want them in their own backyards. And then there are those wonderful stories of people who actually volunteer their time and get their hands dirty. Ample examples from the left and right.

Hypocrisy is everywhere but it's always more noticeable in the other guy. I count myself among the hypocrites.
