A possibility, sure, but I doubt a big one.
All these years people have been sounding alarms over Taiwan, and we never cross that line. China and Taiwan are so deeply linked economically, I think the odds are slim. I think our economic links run too deep still for US-China military hostilities to be a realistic possibility. The Chinese need our market more than we need theirs, and Trump's isolationism will have to be incredibly successful for some time to come before that changes.
If it changes, then I think war probably becomes more likely.
