I'd prefer to see the focus on patent reform for medications, and PBMs
to remove perverse incentives, but I suspect that politicians will instead go for the simplistic "drug costs are too damn high" argument, advocating for price controls.
There's a chance we royally screw up the pharmaceutical industry. Pharma doesn't engender a lot of sympathy, so it will be politically untenable to speak up as we slowly strangle the golden goose.
