I would be surprised if the school system didn’t have something like
this in their code of conduct. From Henrico County Public Schools:
Search and Seizure:
School authorities reserve the right to conduct random searches of lockers, desks, HCPS assigned device(s), HCPS assigned device(s) hardware and software, and other property, as well as individuals and their personal belongings. This action will be taken to protect the safety and security of the school environment. School authorities may also conduct a search when there is reasonable suspicion for believing that items will be found that violate the law or school policy, rules, and regulations. The search should be reasonable in scope, duration, and intensity in relation to the item being sought. Students shall be held responsible for all items in their lockers and vehicles. The locations at which searches of students and student property may be conducted are not limited to the school building or school property but may be conducted wherever the student is involved in a school-sponsored activity. If articles violate school policy, rule, regulation, or the law, they will be taken by an administrator. Illegal articles will be turned over to a police officer.
