He's only innocent in legal terms. He's stupid, and lucky the law and the


judge were greatly in his favor. Another textbook example of why "Stand your ground" laws are terrible. I have no doubt the failure to hold him accountable for his awful decision making will lead him to further terrible decisions in the future. See Zimmerman, George and Simpson, Orinthal James.
