High turnout tends to hurt republicans.

If abortion is legitimately on the ballot in battleground states like Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida, I think the Rs stand to lose what remains theirs of the suburbs. They’ve already ceded most support in urban areas and relied on the bumpkin bumps. I’m not sure there are enough of those bumpkins to provide enough bump. I have to imagine Desantis, who won by ~1%, is probably none too thrilled with the Texas republicans for galvanizing the Ds in his state.
